How to get to Kandahar

Kandahar it’s a journey home set in Afghanistan (it was filmed entirely in Saudi Arabia) at almost unbearable stakes. When undercover CIA agent Tom Harris (Butler) is tasked with destroying a facility holding plans for an Iranian nuclear reactor, his entire mission is leaked and Harris finds himself and his interpreter, played by Navid Negahban, tracked down. Their only chance of survival is an old CIA base in hostile territory over 400 miles long, and they have exactly 30 hours to get to Kandahar while chasing them. Through cities of civilians, through the desert, dodging helicopters, minefields and elite enemy forces, Harris is determined to bring them home. The film also stars Ali Fazal, Travis Fimmel, Elnaaz NoruziAnd Bahador Foladi and was written Mitchell LaFortune and Vo.

In addition to being a gripping action drama with characters whose journey resonates on a human scale, Kandahar went down in history as the first film from the West and the biggest budget film to be filmed entirely in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The last movie filmed in some of the locations Kandahar used was Lawrence of Arabia!
