For zombie lovers everywhere the walking Dead was the main favourite. Following a group of survivors of the zombie apocalypse who are simply trying to survive amid threats from both the undead (nicknamed the walkers) and what’s left of the disorganized remaining society, the walking Dead uses his story to demonstrate the condition of a person in critical circumstances. It is designed to thrill viewers emotionally, not just scare them. Spawned from the graphic novel series of the same name, the walking Dead gained gradual popularity after its first few seasons and became the most watched of any cable or broadcast series. He was nominated for numerous awards, including the Golden Globe Award. Concluding eleven seasons, the last episode the walking Dead aired on November 20, 2022, but fans were not left out. Since 2015 the walking Dead spawned three spin-offs: Fear the walking dead, The Walking Dead: Beyondand an anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead. Dead city will follow two the walking Dead alumnus, Maggie Rhee, played by Lauren Cohan (Boy) and Negan Smith, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (supernatural). Fans of the original series might be a little surprised to see the two team up, as Negan killed Maggie’s husband, Glenn Rhee (played by Stephen Youn) in the seventh season the walking Dead. Since then, Maggie has always had revenge on Negan, but in the final season, they fixed everything. Although Maggie never forgave Negan, she would have to trust him in order to continue to survive in their apocalyptic world. When is The Walking Dead: Dead City coming out?
On January 10, 2023, we heard the news that the spin-off will premiere in June 2023. We now have more specific information on the same as AMC has announced that The Walking Dead: Dead City the premiere will take place immediately after Fear the walking deadThe Mid-Season Finale will air on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 10 PM ET on AMC and AMC+. After it premieres, the remaining episodes of the six-episode series will air on AMC on Sundays at 9:00 pm ET with a streaming episode on AMC+.
The development of the spin-off was announced back in March 2022 under the working title Dead islandand it was renamed to The Walking Dead: Dead City back in August 2022, with no real explanation why. Production began in New York in July 2022 and ended in October 2022.

For those who want to look into a more dead and brilliant world Dead city, the first teaser trailer was released in November 2022 and features shots of Maggie and Negan, as well as some new faces and uglier undead. The teaser is a 21-second gritty zombie nightmare that doesn’t reveal much about what’s to come, but it has set fans up for the new series. What is the plot of The Walking Dead: Dead City?
The official synopsis for Dead City reads:
“The crumbling city is filled with the dead and residents who have turned New York into their own world of anarchy, danger, beauty and horror.”
While in the city, Maggie and Negan meet native New Yorkers, evade a marshal with a troubled past, and hunt down a notorious assassin. But as the pair push deeper into the sandy depths of the walker-infested city, it becomes clear that the traumas of their turbulent past could prove to be just as big a threat as the dangers of the present. There are many layers to Maggie and Negan’s problems, from their rocky history to mutated walking monsters and a killer on the loose, as well as navigating a newly formed rooftop-dwelling apocalyptic society. Dead city will be a wild ride, gleaming with both nostalgia and previously untouched Manhattan skyscrapers.

Lauren Cohen reprises her role as Maggie Rhee, Glenn Rhee’s widow and former leader of the Hilltop Colony. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is once again Negan Smith, the former leader of the Saviors and a ruthless character. He killed Glenn Rhee and so there is some tension between the two characters. The new face of the franchise Guy Charles (Friday night lights), will play the new character Pearly Armstrong, described by Screen Rant as a “dedicated family man” who will stop at nothing to protect his loved ones. Like Negan, his character is ruthless. The series will feature several new faces, including Jonathan Higginbotham (Black list) as Tommaso, Mahina Napoleon (NCIS: Hawaii) like Ginny, Trey Santiago-Hudson (You hurt my feelings) as Jano, Charlie Solis as “Bartender” and Zeljko Ivanek (Hannibal) as a Croatian. In as yet unknown roles in the series starred Michael Anthony (secret headquarters), Alex Borlo (Atlas), David Chen (no exit), Randy Gonzalez (Vendetta), Alex Hyun (Accountant), Aisha Kendrick (sisters), Karina Ortiz (Orange is the new black), Caleb Reese Paul (FBI), Eleonora Reiss (Trophy kids), And John Woo (Power Book III: Raising Kanan).
