Do you hear this sound? The blues are calling and they’re calling louder than ever Kelsey Grammer showed that filming fraser reboot is over. During an interview with New Jersey 101.5, the star revealed that the cast and crew “finished work last Tuesday,” promising fans “this is an amazing show.” While a release date for the next chapter in the life of Dr. Crane has yet to be announced, the star has hinted at a fall release that will be “aimed at October 1st.”
Production began early in the year, with the show’s creative team revealing that the character would return to his former life in Boston on the next installment. Viewers will remember that the original series was a spin-off of a beloved series. To your health, which took place in the city of Massachusetts, meaning there’s a good chance the reboot will mix in characters from Fraser’s old life, even if only as a cameo. At the moment we know that Bebe Neuwirth will return to reprise her role as Fraser’s ex-wife Lilith with Peri Gilpin guest starring as radio producer Frasier Roz Doyle.
Sad, David Hyde Pierce, who played Fraser’s brother, Niles, had previously announced that he would not be returning to the series. Another important character that we will miss is John MahoneyMartin Crane as an actor sadly passed away in 2018. While he may not be part of the physical storyline, Grammer promises the series will keep the memory of the late star alive in other ways.
What fraser ABOUT?
When we last finished with the psychiatrist and radio host, he was living in dreary and rainy Seattle. Now that he’s older, Frazier decides it might be time to reunite with his family, specifically his worker son Frederick (Jack Cutmore-Scott). Packing his bags and heading back to the East Coast, the new series sees the character try to be a father again, battling his ex for quality time with his son. The series will also introduce viewers to Olivia (Tox Olagundoe), Head of the Department of Psychology of the University; Alan (Nicholas Lyndhurst) Fraser’s old college friend, Frederick’s roommate, Eva (Jess Salguerio); and David (Anders Keith), the son of Fraser’s brother Niles and Daphne Moon, who was last seen by viewers as an infant during the 2004 original series finale.
Now that filming has wrapped and the show looks set to release at the end of next year, fans can prepare for more announcements and first looks in the future. Check out the Collider interview with Grammer below.
