With a dazzling mix of music and theatrics, the network has released a trailer that gives viewers a glimpse of what’s to come in the cinematic version of the 2022 sold-out concert in Los Angeles. Known for his award-winning voice, Abel Makkonen Tesfayealso known as The Weeknd, also has a creative flair for design that makes his live performances a well-produced spectacle for audiences to enjoy.

The trailer opens with some of these eye-catching sets, where the performer walks across the stage towards an urban-style backdrop, with backup dancers hidden in hoods. Combining a masterful light show with well choreographed moves, The Weeknd grabs the attention of the crowd by taking the stage in front of a crowded stadium. Hitting us with a sample, a remixed version of the singer’s “Sacrifice”, which was created with swedish house mafia, begins with applause from the crowd in the background. Throughout the rest of the trailer, the Starboy singer puts on an impressive laser show, all set to the tones of the Grammy Award-winning artist’s iconic voice.

The series will tell the story of a modern-day cult leader who dives headlong into an extremely over-the-top and dangerous relationship with an up-and-coming pop star. The Weeknd co-wrote, co-wrote and executive produced the drama along with his frequent collaborator. Reza Fahim And Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, with The Weeknd also starring opposite Lily Rose Depp.
