British racism and classism were at their fullest in the mishandling of early records, and this film does a great job of getting to the heart of what should have been the focus from the start: exploitation. The survivors are incredibly brave as they talk about what they’ve been through, but viewers will find it disturbing to say the least. Exciting BBC mini-series Three girls it’s a phenomenal dramatic retelling of these events, if you’re strong enough for more.
2 ‘Ticklish’ (2016)

3 “Goodnight Sugar Baby: The Murder of Vera Jo Reigle” (2013)
Declared as a small town mystery good night sugar baby When it was released, it didn’t do itself any favors, although it can be said that this was long before the true crime genre took off in the media.
However, there’s a reason this heartbreaking story hasn’t been picked up by any other streaming platform - it’s too disturbing, and it doesn’t have a happy ending. Dealing with the themes of child sexual abuse, incest, torture and murder of a young mother with mental retardation, this movie is not for the faint of heart or the faint of heart. 4 Paradise Lost trilogy (1996–2012)
Given West Memphis Three’s place in crime history, it’s surprising how many people haven’t seen the documentaries that started it all. Bible Belt 1993 and in the throes of a satanic panic, there were more than three victims at the center of this case.
To understand the calls for an overhaul of the current U.S. justice system, one need look no further than lost heaven trilogy. Filmed frankly enough for the viewer to form their own opinion about the guilt of the aforementioned Troika, lost heaven consists of raw footage of the investigation and subsequent trial. The next two films released in 2000 (Paradise Lost 2: Revelations) And 2012 (Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory) equally important to watch. A long, painful story awaits you.

5 “Revealed: The McMartin Family Trials” (2019)
It was the longest and most expensive lawsuit in US history, lasting seven years. In 1983 a woman named Judy Johnson called the police to report that her young son had been abused by his father Ray Bucky. Bucky also happened to be a preschool teacher and Johnson’s ex-husband. Bucky was quickly arrested, and a letter was sent to every child who attended preschool, inviting their parents to question them about their own experiences with Bucky. What followed could otherwise be described as mass hysteria with devastating consequences.
Revealed: McMartin family trials does an honest job of presenting all the facts and allowing the viewer to consider the possibilities, but the simple fact remains: the trial did not result in convictions. Linked to the satanic panic experienced by the West Memphis trio, the three-year-olds’ statements were so outlandish that audiences today can’t help but think critically about how fear can prevail over logic.

6 “Insulted by my girlfriend” (2019)
While the title is insulted by my girlfriend – does not necessarily attract attention, this crime documentary is very good. The audience is introduced to Alexwho talks about the horrific abuse he endured at the hands of his ex-girlfriend, Jordan.
The combination of a story about a man surviving domestic abuse (something you don’t see often on the platform) and the fact that he and his ex were normal, young, beautiful people make this movie amazing. Alex demonstrates incredible strength in his vulnerable retelling and the audience will be emotionally involved. Abuse stories are devastating, but as a community we can only hope that sharing experiences will help Alex recover, and that the more such stories are told, the fewer of them there will be.
7 “Open Secret” (2014)
A film that deserves much more attention, but whose house on Vimeo unfortunately fits, is open secret. Amy Berg boldly published this Hollywood exposure of sexual assault. While it mostly focuses on child stars’ experiences with predatory management teams, it delves into the drug parties that some studios threw for teenage boys in the 1990s or worse.
Those interested in a deep dive into the topic should check out Goonies baby star Corey Feldmanstory. Regardless of his reliability as a source, the tragedy of his best friend and fellow child star cannot be denied. Corey Haimsudden death in 2010 (due to pneumonia) after struggling with drug addiction. The two spoke briefly about their abuse on their reality show. 8 “I’m That Girl” (2018)
It was the court that made Australia talk about consent. In 2013, Saxon was 18 years old, a virgin, and it was her first night at King’s Cross in Sydney. On the dance floor, she kissed a young man who turned out to be the owner’s son. He took her outside to an ally; realizing his intention, she stopped. He didn’t.
In a country where one in six women have experienced sexual violence, it is clear that there is a fundamental issue of violence against women and what constitutes consent. Saxon boldly represents the women of Australia in I am that girl. Be prepared to be angry, because unfortunately the handling of this case and the consequences for the perpetrator are extremely unfair.
