Receiving praise for its unique animation style, story, voice acting and humor, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse grossed $375.5 million worldwide on a $90 million budget. Fans are looking forward to what the next adventures of Miles Morales and the rest of the Spider-Men will be. Spiderman across universes which will hit theaters next June when Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) will reunite with Gwen Stacy (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld) and Peter B. Parker (voiced by Jake Johnson), as well as encounters with characters such as Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac)Hobie Brown aka Spider PunkDaniel Kaluuya) and Jessica Drew aka Spider Woman (voiced by Issa Ray).

With such a formidable cast of heroes, one might wonder what could have tangled their web. Kemp Powers- said one of the directors of the film. Total Film that The Spot (voiced by Jason Schwartzman) will be the main antagonist of the film. In the comics, Spot is a prankster villain who is not taken as seriously as the Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus. “But if you really look at his abilities, you see incredible potential,” says Powers. “His ability to open portals between dimensions is perfect for Spider-Verse. He’s the villain in the next two movies… and let’s just say that Spot and Miles bond in an amazing way.

The film is directed by Powers along with Joaquim Dos Santos as well as Justin K. Thompson, and follows Miles after he reunites with Gwen Stacy and embarks on a whirlwind journey through the multiverse where he meets many other Spider-Men just like him who are tasked with protecting the existence of the multiverse. But when Spot shows up and the Spiders can’t agree on how to deal with him, Miles wonders what it means to be a hero to save the world, the universe, and the people he loves the most.

The third film, announced in 2021 during the CCXP, was to be titled Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Part Two) but later changed to Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be released exclusively in theaters in June 2023. In the meantime, check out the trailer for the upcoming film below.
