A little over a year later very strange things star Finn Wolfhard reported that he was working on his first feature film as a director, we finally have more details on what to expect from his debut. hellish summer. own collider Steve Weintraub spoke to him and Gregory Mann per Guillermo del ToroX Pinocchio and Wolfhard described the film he co-wrote and directed with Billy Brick as a horror slasher comedy set in a camp. He said:

The action of the comedy slasher takes place in a summer camp. This happens on counselors’ weekends before campers arrive. All the leaders prepare the camp, and people begin to be killed. This is a kind of ensemble camp comedy with blood. I co-wrote and directed with Billy Bryk. We are editing it now. I hope someone wants to post it. It would be great.

Wolfhard’s description sounds like the perfect homage to classic slasher movies, albeit with a much higher level of camp and comedy. It’s hard not to think about the original Friday the 13th or a slasher like sleep camp when he talks about the movie, even though summer camps were the go-to place for a lot of horror movies in that era. This would be ideal given the types of nostalgic projects he has leaned towards throughout his career.
