New Black Panther: Wakanda Forever just dropped a concept art showing an underwater battle between Ironheart and Namora that was cut from the finished movie. concept artist Phil Saunders shared a keyframe illustration of Ironheart diving into the water to attack Namora on Instagram.

While revealing the script’s original oil rig setting due to the pillars visible in the background, Saunders shared his thoughts on the episode featuring Riri Williams, aka Ironheart, played by Dominic Thorn (If Beale Street could talk, Judas and the Black Messiah), who has been introduced as a new heroine in the Mavel Cinematic Universe and will have her own Disney+ Original Series set to premiere in late 2023. “Another keyframe for #blackpanther #wakandaforever, this time #ririwilliams dives in to attack #namora,” Saunders commented along with the images. “The original setting in the scenario was an oil rig, hence the pillars in bkgd. You can see how the helmet should have been shown, with a clean front panel and Riri’s face visible. I really enjoyed drawing the incredible @joshnizzi.art design for Namora, so richly textured and dynamic!”

Ever since the long awaited sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hit theaters, Saunders released several concept art samples for the film with fans, including concept art detailing Thorne’s Ironheart costume. Many of Saunders’ colleagues in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever also shared concept art samples with fans, further expanding the world that exists as part of the MCU. Visual Development Artist at Marvel Studios Anthony Francisco also took to Instagram to share the original design for Okoye (Danai Gurira, Walking Dead) and the rest of Dora Milaje, as well as Namor (Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Narcos: Mexico), the leader of Talokan’s undersea territory.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever still in theaters, continues to amaze fans and do well at the box office. In addition to Thorne, Cadena Huerta and Guriraa, the popular 2018 sequel Black Panther stars Letitia Wright like Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o like Nakia, Winston Duke like M’Baku Florence Kasumba like ayo, Mikaela Coel like aneka, Angela Bassett like the queen mother of Ramond, Alex Livinalli like Attuma and Martin Freeman like Everett Ross.
