Today, Peacock revealed the first look images and release date for Mrs Davis, an upcoming comedy series about a nun battling an evil artificial intelligence that wants to enslave humanity. With first look photos, Peacock also shared a warm letter from Mrs. Davis herself as the AI tries to convince viewers to join its online community.
The new images give us a clear picture of the nun Simone (Betty Gilpin), lean, mean, and ready to get mad at the machine. Gilpin takes her job of preventing a binary apocalypse very seriously, as she has been seen marching through the corridors of the hospital, where we can also see many of the bloodied and battered LARP players. We don’t know yet how AI can harm people, but in her letter, Mrs. Davis is trying to convince people to become Users, get Wings, and go on Quests. It all sounds pretty innocent as a game, but these unfortunate LARP players have real wounds to show.
The images also represent Jake McDorman (Dopesick, right stuff) as Simone’s religious ex-boyfriend who has a personal vendetta against Mrs. Davis. The two will work together to defeat the virtual villain, but McDorman’s presence may tempt Sister Simone into sin. After all, the heat of battle can rekindle an old fire. Mrs Davis also stars Andy McQueen (Station Eleven, Fahrenheit 451), but the stars are nowhere to be seen in the first-look images.
Who is involved in Mrs Davis?
Mrs Davis in collaboration with Tara Hernandez (The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon) as well as Damon Lindelof (Guardians, Remains, Lost), with Hernandez taking over as showrunner. Hernandez and Lindelof executive producers with directors Owen Harris (Black Mirror: San Junipero, Brave New World) as well as Alethea Jones (Rise of the Pink Ladies, Evil). First season Mrs Davis has eight 60-minute episodes.
