Country music legends George Jones and Tammy Wynette were pioneering artists in their genre and are often referred to as the king and queen of country music. Both found early success on their own, they fell in love with each other and were married from 1969 to 1975, resulting in dozens of country hits as an unstoppable musical duo. Tammy Wynette was born on May 5, 1952 in the small town of Itawamba County, Mississippi.
