Editor’s Note: The following are spoilers for Episode 6 of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.AT She-Hulk Attorney at Lawlast episode, Jen Walters (Tatiana Maslany) faces every unattached person’s worst nightmare: an old friend’s wedding. Any major social event, including weddings, get-togethers, or literally any family gathering, is universally feared by single people who hate to be interrogated about how long it will take them to find the right companion to spend the rest of their cookie. life with. Episode 6, “Just Jen”, refers to Jen’s battle to meet her high school friend’s wedding alone and without the emotional armor of her She-Hulk persona. She does start the episode feeling pretty good going to the wedding even though she was heavily armed to become a bridesmaid with a glittery bombshell covered in flowers and diamonds. Jen is justifiably proud of the way her life is turning out and the work she does, and she can’t wait to show it off - not to mention that she has an outfit created personally by designer extraordinaire Luke (Griffin Matthews) that is guaranteed to grab attention and make her feel great. Like all weddings, this one comes at an inconvenient time, but she packs her bags, leaves her best friend Nikki (Ginger Gonzago) to have a little chat with Miss Mallory (Rene Elise Goldsberry), and is gearing up for her big solo release.
When She-Hulk comes to dinner rehearsal, she feels her hot girlish fantasy. With “The Vibes” from Safire playing in the background, she makes a slow motion and ruffles her hair, which drives everyone crazy - except for the bride, who looks apoplectic with barely concealed rage. Lulu (Patti Harrison) asks not so politely that Jen not be a distraction from her special day by being the “Hulk”, so in the name of friendship and polite commitment, Jen agrees not to be green so she doesn’t overshadow Bridesilla. This sets up the rest of Jen’s hellish experience at the wedding as an ordinary person who wasn’t allowed to bring a plus one for moral support - and, in a humiliating turn of events, finds herself paired with a recently reanimated, twitchy and possibly leaky dog named Jonathan.
Being Lulu’s bridesmaid is an exercise in patience for Jen, who has to clean, “clear empty spaces” and iron the shirts of adult grooms whose idea of the sport is Mario Kart. The worst is when Lulu asks Jen about her life and she starts telling her all about how good she is doing as the new head of superhuman abilities at GLK&H, one of the most prestigious law firms in the country. as well as her amazing new superpowers, but Lulu quickly cuts her off, saying “she doesn’t want that”. Lulu just wants to know if she’s dating anyone or if she has boys in her life because apparently life isn’t worth living if you don’t have a boy (or girl) to kiss . It’s far more painful than any physical blow Jen could take and promotes the idea that she’s worthless as a person unless someone else loves her, especially when followed by the most vicious line ever. or pronounced by a “friend”: - Do not be sad … You still have small time.” Translation: You must feel bad and you are old.
So what’s a girl to do when her fiancee dumps her and makes her feel like a failure because she doesn’t quite understand this tiny part of her life? Answer: Spend a royal ransom at the box office, call your cousin Bruce Banner drunk, dance like no one is watching, and then flirt with Josh, Joshua, Joshinson, whose parents were kind enough to give him a “good face.” Jen’s drunk confession is sweet and sad and downright related because all she wants to do is show everyone how great her life is, how good she is at “defending the law” and be as amazing as She-Hulk everyone thinks. Things are finally starting to get better for Jen, until she has to go out quickly to visit the garden.
Titania punched a superhuman suckerJamila Jamil) throwing up in the middle is the best thing that could have happened to her as it finally frees her from her obligation to be just Jen. The fight really starts badly for her when she unsuccessfully tries to fight Titania as a drunken Jen. Visually, the fight is hysterical, with Jen looking like a little girl trying on her mom’s outfit in a She-Hulk-fitting dress against Titania, who looks like Glamazon in an insanely gorgeous pink suit. After Jen remembers how to get rid of the Hulk and stops seeing double, she creates a tidal wave of bricks with one foot stomp and the wedding fight officially begins.
Titania is definitely getting a beating, and it’s fun to watch She-Hulk take out some of her anger at all the disrespect she’s been forced to endure over the past two days, as well as how incredibly excited Josh is. Witness how She-Hulk kicks Titania’s ass. They both manage to get some good punches that are captured on the phone of each of the wedding guests. Unfortunately, She-Hulk cannot knock out; instead, Titania slips and knocks out her own cladding, steals the cake tier, and storms away. However, Jen gets another victory when her nemesis Lulu, who has a flower about the size of her face on her head, is too drunk to remember that she didn’t want She-Hulk, also known as “huge boobs”. “at her wedding. The moral of the story is that it’s much easier to face a crazy bitch and a vendetta than a “friend” with pity and protection in his heart.
