Today’s television and film industry is absolutely saturated with reboots and reinventions. Taking advantage of the recycling boom of what worked well in the past, modern family creator Stephen Levitan has teamed up with Hulu to provide viewers with a satirical and fictional look at the behind-the-scenes process behind the reboot of the fan-favorite series. And today, we get our first look at what promises to be a belly-ripping comedy with an all-star cast filled with some of the most familiar faces in the game.

Reload will focus on the wacky and highly disorganized lives of the original cast of the canceled 2000s family sitcom. While they are happy to get their money back, making a profit, they now need to get their relationship sorted out again. The series leads Keegan Michael Key, Judy Greer, Johnny Knoxville, Paul Reiser, Rachel Bloom, Calum Worthyas well as Christa Marie Yu.

The first drop of images reveal all the inner workings of the long-forgotten show coming back to life, including storyboards, heavy conversations outside of talent trailers, and tabletop readings with all the main players present. Several images show Key, Greer, and the Knoxville characters interacting with each other, giving us a great sense of the on-screen chemistry between the actors. Reiser also takes center stage in several pictures as his character, the show’s stressed-out executive producer Gordon Gelman, who is just trying to piece things together.

Together with the creation of the series, Levitan also joins Daniel Stockdik as well as Jeff Morton as an executive producer. Steven Levitan Productions and Twentieth Television are supporting the project as producers. The eight-episode original Hulu will hit the platform on Tuesday, September 20th. After the premiere of two episodes of the show, new episodes will appear on streamers weekly.
