In what Netflix says was a project that Tyler Perry “waited to tell 27 years”, we finally got a first look at the upcoming drama of the creative with a few hyphens, Jazzman blues. Written, directed and produced by Perry, the film will focus on “a story of forbidden love.” Although not much is known about the plot, it will be full of scandals, mysteries and an unsolved murder. The star of this feature will be a line that includes such Joshua Boone, Solea Pfeiffer, Brent Antonello, Brad Benedict, Ryan Eggold, Milauna Jemie Jackson, Caryo Marseille, Austin Scottas well as Rob Wood.

The image, which Netflix posted on its Twitter account today, shows the vintage production set among trees and open fields. In it we see Pfeiffer and Boone, who are supposedly our unfortunate lovers. Pfeiffer’s character wears a patterned dress with a wide neckline and sits on a tree branch with her legs dangling from it. It looks like Boone’s character came to talk to her as she immersed herself in the story while holding a book. Interrupted or not, she doesn’t seem to care about the visit as she leans in, absorbed in what Boone is saying. Boone, dressed in a long-sleeved white shirt and peach-colored trousers, looks at Pfeiffer with concern in his eyes. The connection between the two becomes more obvious the longer you look at the photo with on-screen chemistry oozing out of the frame.
