Financial support for the Civic Platform is provided not only by the heroes of the Wprost list of the 100 richest Poles, but also by their families. The list of donors is growing every week and is replete with many well-known names in Polish business.
The first was Arkadiusz Mus with his daughter Maria. Already on March 27, they paid a total of 102 thousand. zł for the Civic Platform. Arkadiusz Mus, with a fortune of 4.9 billion zlotys, took 10th place this year in the list of the 100 richest Poles “Wprost”. He is the owner of Press Glass, one of the largest glass manufacturers in the world. Last year, the company’s revenue amounted to a record PLN 3.5 billion. Double-glazed windows Press Glass were used, e.g. when building skyscrapers in Manhattan or downtown Warsaw.
Maria Mus works for her father’s company. He is a helicopter pilot. Thus, it helps Press Glass employees to quickly move between several of the company’s plants in different parts of the country. In addition, the daughter of Arkadiusz Musi is the only woman in Europe who can perform aerobatics in a helicopter.
Less than a month after paying Musya, Mariusz Gavron joined the group of donors included in the list of 100 richest people. This is one of the largest developers in Pomerania. It is owned by Grupa Inwestycyjna Hossa, which has already built more than 40 investments in Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot over three decades of work.
Although he does not know Tusk personally, he paid the maximum amount of PLN 52,000 to the OO. PLN 350, explaining that after eight years of PiS rule, it would be useful to change the government in Poland.
Almost half a million from CD Projekt
A few days after Gavron, exactly on April 28, Marcin Ivinsky and his wife Renata paid the maximum amount. Ivinsky is the largest shareholder of the Warsaw-based games manufacturer CD Projekt. With assets of PLN 2.2 billion, he is ranked 28th in the list of the 100 richest Poles. This is not the first time that the creators of CD Projekt have provided financial support for NGO policies.
Three years ago, the co-authors of The Witcher’s success and their families paid a total of PLN 239,000. złoty for the presidential campaign of Rafał Trzaskowski. In addition to Iwiński, the donor was CD Projekt Vice President Piotr Neliubowicz and the company’s second-largest shareholder Michal Kiczynski, who parted ways with the company mainly due to health issues, but retained a large portfolio of shares into it.
This year, in addition to Marcin Iwiński, Renata Iwińska, Stanisław Iwiński and Aleksandra Iwińska contributed the maximum amount to the Platform’s campaign. Most likely, these are family members of the main shareholder of CD Projekt. Donations were also made by Piotr Nelyubovich and Irmina Nelyubovich, Adam Kichinski and Karolina Kichinska. Thus, it can be assumed that the creators of CD Projekt and their families provided the software with a record amount of more than PLN 418,000. zloty.
Software Entrepreneurs, PiS Politicians
Going further through the register of payments, you can see more names known from the “List of 100”. This is Marek Röfler, owner of the Warsaw-based developer Dantex. He paid 49 thousand. zloty. His daughter, Natalia Refler-Reismund, is a thousand less, after all, 48 thousand. zloty. The list also includes Anna Völkel from Poznań. Most likely, she is the wife of Piotr Völkel, the creator of the VOX furniture giant from Greater Poland. We asked the company’s press service why a member of the supervisory board decided to contribute to the RFP, but received no answer.
83 people have already donated several or even tens of thousands of zlotys to the Civic Platform. First of all, these are entrepreneurs, often included in the Wprost list of the 100 richest people. Law and Justice raises much smaller amounts than a smaller number of donors, as 30 people have transferred funds from this party so far. They are mostly politicians or people associated with state treasury companies.
