Commercial Sundays. Find out which stores will be open on June 4th.

Must read

There are seven trading Sundays in a year. All other shops and malls are closed. Will and where will we shop on June 4th?

In 2023, trading Sundays will be spread over five months. The first trading Sunday took place in January, before the winter break.

Two consecutive trading Sundays were held in April. The first took place a week before Easter. Next up was a chance to shop before the May weekend. Let’s see if we can shop at most stores on June 4th.

When is the next trading Sunday?

Four more trading Sundays are planned before the end of the year. One of them is also scheduled for June. However, not next Sunday. On June 4, most shops and malls will remain closed. The next buying opportunity will be the last weekend of the month, June 25th. The following trading Sundays are scheduled for:

  • August 27;

  • December 17;

  • December 24th.

In the event that a commercial Sunday falls on Christmas Eve, please be aware of reduced store hours. On this day, most branches will be open only until 14:00.

Trade Prohibition and Exclusion Act

The law prohibiting trading on Sundays and public holidays came into force in 2018. It aims to give employees more time to relax. Thanks to this, it will be easier for them to combine personal and professional life. However, this does not mean that outlets are closed on this day. There are several exceptions to the Law. Among them:

  • gas stations;

  • confectionery and bakeries;

  • cinemas;

  • restaurants and bars;

  • ice cream shops;

  • pharmacies;

  • post offices;

  • shops at railway stations and airports.

The trading ban also does not apply to shopkeepers who are self-employed on Sundays. This applies to both small neighborhood shops and franchised stores. This means that on Sunday we will also be shopping at some Żabka or Carrefour Express stores.
