Magdalena Rzeczkowska took over as finance minister at the end of April last year, replacing Tadeusz Kosciński, who resigned after the unrest caused by the Polish order. Rzeczkowska has worked for the ministry for many years and has been a member of the Customs and Tax Service for almost two decades. Last year, President Andrzej Duda appointed her head of the Customs and Tax Service. However, when she took the post of minister, she could not combine it with the service, so she resigned.

Rzeczkowska, 49, is receiving a pension. How is this possible?

True, the retirement age for women is 60, and for the head of the Ministry of Finance - 49, but service officers can retire earlier, although they must take into account a lower pension. Rzeczkowska is not the only member of the government who combines a ministerial post with retirement. The allowance is also collected by the head of the Prime Minister’s Office, Marek Kuczynski. According to the declaration of assets filed for 2022, the 67-year-old politician received PLN 57,000 from ZUS. PLN 683.14, which means that Kuczynski’s monthly pension is PLN 4,000. PLN 800 gross.
