The German giant declares dynamic development in our country. Woolworth discount stores will soon appear in many Polish cities. The company intends to open one of its first stores in Galeria Bawełnianka in Belchatow.
Galeria Bawełnianka in Belchatow is one of the most modern shopping and entertainment centers in the Lodz region. The department store is located in the very center of the city, on the territory of the former Belkhatuv cotton mill. Among the many well-known companies operating on the Polish market, one of the tenants will be the German department store chain Woolworth.
A German company has rented premises in a shopping center in Belchatow.
The company rented 850 sq.m. spaces in the Belchatow Gallery. The offer will include both household items, electronics, interior items, textiles, as well as jewelry, toys and arts and crafts. Woolworth intends to compete on the Polish market with chain stores such as Pepco, Action, KiK and Dealz. A point in the Belchatow shopping center will be one of the first stores of this brand in Poland.
The next stores of the German giant will open this spring in Warsaw, Krakow, Lodz, Poznań, Katowice and Zielona Góra. But this is not the end. The German investor announced the dynamic development in our country. “In the first year of operation, the retailer plans to open from 15 to 25 stores, in the second year – 30, and in the next – 50 outlets” according to the news portal Wiadomoscihandlowe.pl.
Ambitious plans of the German company. They plan to open 400 outlets.
Additional investments may be made in the coming years. “Woolworth sees potential for 400 outlets in the medium term. They should have an assortment of about 6,000 products. we read.
“We are growing faster than any other department store in Germany,” the store owner states on his website. “We started our activity in 2010 with 158 department stores. We currently have over 500 stores in central Germany, shopping malls and specialty stores. Now we are planning to start in Poland!” he adds.
German discounter chain is looking for offices and employees
Currently, representatives of the German network are looking for places for their stores and employees. Woolworth is looking for outlets both in parks and malls, as well as in high-traffic pedestrian areas and close to downtown shopping areas. Discounters are looking for, for example, an expansion manager, an accountant, store managers and employees, and employees of the IT services department.
Woolworth is the second German company to announce significant investments in Poland this year. In March, the Mix Markt chain of stores appeared on the Polish market. Its outlets already exist in three cities in the south of the country. The company competes with Biedronka and Lidl supermarkets.
Mix Markt is already tempting shoppers with “best prices”. The assortment of the discount store includes not only meat, dairy products or fresh vegetables and fruits. What distinguishes the German network from other discounters on the Polish market is the goods from different countries, the so-called. ethnic products.
