JSW unions demand higher wages
The JSW unions asked the supervisory board of the company to give a negative opinion on the technical and economic plan, which included, among other things, a wage freeze, i.e. blocking the possibility of ordering a salary increase.
“The Supervisory Board must give a negative opinion on the technical and economic plan for 2023. We cannot accept ignoring the wage problem at JSW in an era of inflation with huge company profits. Raising wages is not our whim, but a necessity in this difficult time.” - was written in the position of the trade union headquarters.
The miners demand to unfreeze wages and increase it by 25 percent. for Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa employees of 22,000 people. The new rates will apply retroactively from 1 January 2023.
JSW miners threaten to strike
In case of disagreement of the Supervisory Board with the demands of the trade unions, the miners threatened to initiate a collective dispute procedure, including the threat of a strike. As we read in the Commonwealth, the trade union side gave the company three days to make a decision. In case of refusal, the authorities face a general strike of trade union representatives.
The application was signed by representatives of the company “Solidarity”, the Federation of Trade Unions of Miners and the trade union “Kadra”.
