Tusk: Under the rule of PiS, Poland has become a European garbage dump

The politician began by giving advice to PiS President Yaroslav Kaczynski. “I have one piece of advice for the president, stop watching the late-night rodeo and start watching the weather forecast, watch what’s happening in the world, watch the heavy rains, hurricanes, fires, floods. We are facing a catastrophe and therefore we must take action - said the mayor of the capital.

It turns out that there were lobbyists for Gazprom. “They tried to convince everyone that today’s energy crisis is not the time to give up fossil fuels. Unfortunately, sometimes we hear just such arguments from the PiS government, but it happens exactly the opposite. Precisely because we are in a crisis today, we must not lower our ambitions. We must invest in renewables, we must move away from fossil fuels faster, we must be bold, we must focus on self-sufficiency, on distributed energy - said one of the leaders of the software.

“Today we receive news that the rulers, in the name of their phobias, are even capable of rejecting the patriots, even questioning our security. Unfortunately, the same is happening with the fight against climate change. This government has no idea about the Polish state interest. added.

Boris Budka, head of the Civic Coalition club. – By 2030, we will create at least 700 local energy settlements, modernize at least 150 heating networks, build 2,000 biogas plants, and 2 million houses will undergo comprehensive modernization. By 2030, we will halve the amount of energy produced from coal. Budka said.

The NGO deputy also announced the elimination of administrative barriers. – We guarantee that anyone who wants to connect their home to the power grid will not wait for this connection for more than three months – the politician announced.

Tusk: “We were wrong”

- These are not banal slogans, this is life, a safe future for our children and grandchildren. I appeal to people of good will to work together in this matter - thus began his speech at the congress, the chairman of the PO, Donald Tusk.

The ex-premier referred to an article by activists for environmental and climate security entitled “We were wrong”: “Today we must say out loud - we were wrong in underestimating the issue of protecting the climate and the environment,” Tusk said. – Such an honest test of conscience is needed by everyone without exception – politicians, activists, those who want to save the planet from climate and environmental threats - added.

Tusk emphasized that an environmentally and climate-friendly Poland and the planet require “competence, energy, courage, vision and freedom of action.”

Tusk then referred to the slogan the activist had come up with during his speech: “Natural gas is the weapon of dictators.” “Natural gas is the weapon of dictators. We can even develop this idea. This is not so, and the history of recent years, in my opinion, shows in a nutshell that those who are for authoritarianism or dictatorship, those who are for dark narrow ideologies, those who want to nationalize our life, those who want to push our school our children into the abyss of superstition and such a thoughtless, unthinking world, they also deny the problem of climate threat for years, deny the problem of dirty rivers, deforestation for many years, or are the culprits of river poisoning or deforestation. This is not the case - the PO leader objected.

In the final phase of his speech, Tusk listed the mistakes and omissions of the ruling party in the issue of climate protection. – Poland under the rule of the PiS became a European garbage dump, Polish rivers under the rule of the PiS became sewage – the former prime minister said.
