New Lamborghini Revuelto. It is the successor to the iconic Aventador.

Must read

For the 60th anniversary of the Automobili Lamborghini brand, a new model was introduced. Revuelto is the brand’s first supersport hybrid vehicle with a plug-in HPEV (High Performance Electric Vehicle) V12 engine.

According to Automobili Lamborghini, the project is the next stage in the evolution of sports cars. The car has a power of 1015 hp. from an all-new 12-cylinder naturally aspirated engine assisted by three electrical units.

“The Revuelto is a milestone in the history of Lamborghini and an important pillar of our Direzione Cor Tauri electrification strategy. It is a unique and innovative car, but at the same time true to our DNA. The V12 is an iconic symbol of our supersport heritage and history. The Revuelto was created to break the mold by combining a new 12-cylinder engine with hybrid technology. Importantly, our model strikes the perfect balance between meeting the needs of our customers and reducing emissions,” says Stefan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Lamborghini.

Technology and Performance

Carbon fiber, produced at the Sant’Agata Bolognese plant, is the main structural element of the Lamborghini Revuelto, used not only in the fuselage and frame, but in all body parts, except for doors and bumpers. The extensive use of lightweight and durable materials, combined with a powerful engine, has contributed to achieving the best weight-to-power ratio in the history of the Lamborghini brand - 1.75 kg / hp.

The Revuelto accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in less than 7 seconds. The maximum speed is 350 km/h. These values have been achieved thanks to the introduction of electric torque vectoring and all-wheel drive, also available in all-electric mode. According to Automobili Lamborghini, the supersport Revuelto is the perfect track car as well as a daily driving companion.

“With Revuelto, we are taking the Lamborghini driving experience to the next level. This model takes a significant step forward in responsiveness and responsiveness, delivering the most exhilarating and natural ride in any condition. The Revuelto is a high performance car that delivers a unique driving experience at the same time,” said Reuven Mohr, Technical Director of Lamborghini.

Unique Design

The new model also represents a new design language for the Lamborghini brand, in line with its DNA and other legendary models from the Italian manufacturer. The latest supercar from Sant’Agata Bolognese is inspired by automotive icons such as the 1971 Countach prototype, the Lamborghini V12, the Diablo and the Murciélago in exterior and interior design.

“The Y-shaped light signature is relevant for a new era, and the interior is a huge step in setting a new direction for Lamborghini design. Our “feel like a pilot” philosophy is vivid and visible in every detail – driver and passenger are deeply integrated into the ultra-light dashboard and Y-shaped center console. The Revuelto gives you the feeling of driving a racing car while at the same time the balance between digital and physical elements is controlled ”, says Mitya Borkert, head of design at Lamborghini.

The design is inspired by aeronautical elements, characterized by sculpted surfaces framed by two lines that start at the front and span the cockpit and engine, narrowing to hexagonal tailpipes.

One of the key elements of the exterior is the new active rear wing, designed to provide the best performance in all conditions. The diffuser is also responsible for aerodynamics, directing the airflow away from the chassis through a differentiated duct system between the flat center section. These solutions have allowed Revuelto to increase the front aerodynamic load by 33 percent. and 74 percent in the rear (compared to the Aventador Ultimae).

“Monofusolage”

The new model from Sant’Agata is based on an aeronautics-inspired chassis dubbed “monofusolage”. In addition to a monocoque body made entirely of multi-tech carbon fiber, it has a front structure of forged composites and a special material of resin-impregnated short carbon fibers. This technology was patented and used by Lamborghini back in 2008. The Revuelto is also the first super sports car to feature a 100% carbon fiber front end. made of carbon fiber. It turns out 10 percent. lighter than the Aventador chassis and the front frame is 20% lighter than the chassis. lighter than its aluminum predecessor. The torsional rigidity has also been improved (25% more than the Aventador).

Drive system

Revuelto has a powertrain based on a hybrid architecture. An all-new mid-mounted 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine (Lamporghini’s lightest and most powerful 12-cylinder engine) is complemented by three electric motors, one of which is integrated with a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission positioned transversely behind the engine. engine . An additional 3.8 kWh lithium-ion battery is located in the transmission tunnel to power the electric motors, providing increased power at low speeds and zero emissions.

The Superquadro V12 engine develops 825 hp. at 9250 rpm. and is supported by an electric unit integrated with the gearbox, with a capacity of 150 hp. Revuelto is additionally equipped with two front electric motors that propel the car, including in reverse gear. Thanks to this, it can move with all-wheel drive in zero emission mode. As a result, the power of the entire drive system is 1015 hp.

Emission-free performance and driving experience

The hybrid system is equipped with a 3.8 kWh traction battery. When the energy level in it drops to zero, it can be charged either with ordinary electricity from a household outlet or with direct current up to 7 kW. A full charge takes 30 minutes. The Lamborghini Hybrid can also be recharged using regenerative braking or directly from the V12 engine in just six minutes.

Along with the powertrain, three new special driving modes will debut, including Recharge, Hybrid and Performance, which can be combined with Città (City), Strada, Sport and Corsa modes, selected via two dials located on the steering wheel. In total Revuelto is equipped with 13 dynamic settings.

Special tires

Especially for the Lamborghini Revuelto, Bridgestone developed the Potenza Sport tire. The premium tires are available in 265/35 ZRF20 front and 345/30 ZRF21 rear, as well as 265/30 ZRF21 front and 355/25 ZRF22 rear. Both options are equipped with run-flat technology. For track use, Revuelto also offers bespoke Bridgestone Potenza Race tires and Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 tires for winter use.

Infotainment and ADAS systems

The Revuelto is also equipped with a new Human Machine Interface (HMI) system consisting of three displays: a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch center display and an optional 9.1-inch display. The car also features an infotainment system and a completely redesigned navigation system. The extensive package of electronic driving assistants includes, for example. Amazon Alexa, which allows you to access vehicle control functions such as air conditioning, navigation, and multimedia using voice commands.

Using the Lamborghini Unica mobile app, the owner can constantly monitor the car’s condition, including fuel and battery levels, electric range and its exact position after parking. The Unica app also allows you to perform a number of remote operations, such as locking and unlocking doors, turning on the horn, or turning on the car’s headlights. Some features are also available with Apple Watch.

Lamborghini Revuelto is also introducing a complete ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) for the first time, which includes features that enhance safety and everyday driving through an extensive system of cameras, radars and sensors. The package includes Active Lane Departure Warning (ALDW), which monitors the lane and corrects the lane if the driver inadvertently crosses the line. In turn, the system (LCW) monitors the blind spots of the car and warns the driver of the danger when changing lanes. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) adjusts the vehicle’s speed and distance from the vehicle in front by accelerating or braking autonomously.

For easier and safer maneuvering, the Revuelto is equipped with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and when reversing, the system warns the driver of obstacles behind the car and brakes the car in the event of an imminent collision.
