Mitsubishi Motors has released its three-year mid-term business plan for fiscal year 2023-2025, Challenge 2025. As part of it, as many as 16 new car models were announced.
As we read, the plan will be based on a reduced and flexible business structure introduced through organizational reforms adopted so far. This will create a stable revenue base through the selection and concentration of resources within the regional strategy of Mitsubishi Motors and the continuation of activities aimed at increasing revenues throughout the company. In addition, Mitsubishi Motors will achieve sustainable growth thanks to higher and more stable R&D spending and capital expenditures, which will include increases in electrification, information technology and new activities in proportion to overall spending.
First: regionalization
In terms of products, Mitsubishi Motors will continue to work on electric vehicles and will work towards becoming carbon neutral. The company’s regional strategy implies a clear definition of the role of each region, and then the appropriate allocation of resources. From a business perspective, in addition to working to expand the value chain, Mitsubishi Motors will take on a new business challenge to create new future revenue streams. In addition, the company will build long-term relationships with customers based on trust through products and technologies.
The main provisions of the plan are as follows:
-
Aiming to achieve sales of 1.1 million vehicles and operating income of 220 billion yen (with an operating margin of 7%),
-
Concentration of asset management in ASEAN/Oceania, increase in sales volume, market share and revenue,
-
Launch of 16 models (nine electrified) over the next five years.
-
