The largest Polish dealer group (Grupa Cichy-Zasada) does not stop there and wants to become even bigger. The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection has already received an application for the acquisition of a large dealer group from Warsaw.
The Samara Institute of Automotive Market Research writes a lot about takeovers. As we read, a few years ago, after the merger of the companies of Miroslav Cichy and Sobieslaw Zasada, the largest dealer group in Poland, Cichy-Zasada, was created in the annual ranking of dealers in Poland Top 50, counted together with Sobieslaw Zasada Automotive. After a “rest” necessary to integrate both companies and raise funds, the Cichy-Zasada group decided to make another acquisition.
Pending approval from UOKiK
The target was Auto Wimar Group, as confirmed by the head of the group in a statement to IBRM Samar. – Tsikhi-Zasada Group and Auto Vimar Group signed a letter of intent regarding the acquisition by the Tsikhi-Zasada Group of a 100% stake in Auto Wimar and Auto Wimar Centrum, owned by Auto Wimar Group. Both companies operate under the Skoda brand at four offices in Warsaw. The deal will be finalized after receiving approval from the President of the Competition and Consumer Protection Authority for concentration, Karol Obglu, chairman of the board of the Cichy-Zasada group, told the Institute.
He added that a corresponding application has already been submitted to the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection.
