The German defense contractor Rheinmetall plans to start repairing tanks in Ukraine in a few days.
“We will start providing services this month, - said CEO Armin Papperger in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung. - The first twelve Ukrainian workers were trained in Germany, and the next twelve are next in line.”
According to him, the production of tanks in Ukraine should also begin in the near future.
This can happen quickly, there are quite well-equipped tank factories from Soviet times. We want to rent them, and then produce machines according to NATO standards on one or two production lines,” Armin Papperger said.
By F-16 aircraft, Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra thanked his American colleague Anthony Blinken for good and fast cooperation. The US government has said it wants to allow Denmark and the Netherlands to quickly transfer F-16s to Ukraine. A US State Department spokesman told Deutsche Presse-Agentur that both countries were confident that permits would be expedited so that the fighter jets could be delivered to Kiev as soon as training for Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel was completed.
