In the Desna River in the Chernihiv region, which in the spring of 2023 led to a large-scale flood, two girls born in 2008 drowned, their bodies have already been raised to the surface.
This was reported in the State Emergency Service.
“As of 16.00, divers discovered and raised to the surface from the Desna River the bodies of two girls, born in 2008”, - said in the message of the rescuers.
It is reported that the girls disappeared near the village of Obolon, Koropsky territorial community of the Novgorod-Seversky district.
More than 30 people were involved in the search work: rescuers, divers, police officers and local residents.
The State Emergency Service also reported that in 2023 alone, as of the beginning of June, 332 people drowned in Ukrainian reservoirs. Among them is an 11-year-old Cherkasy woman, who at the beginning of summer, without the permission of adults, went to swim in a pond in the village of Zyubrikha.
