According to the head of the Latvian government, Germany should become the leading state in Europe not only in economic but also military terms. The politician, whose homeland was occupied by both Germany and the Soviet Union during the Second World War, does not see this as a problem.

The Prime Minister of Latvia would also like the Bundeswehr to permanently deploy an efficient brigade in Lithuania.
