Despite the Russian aggression and the fact that the 2023 budget will be military, the promised indexation of pensions is not cancelled.
This was announced on the air of the telethon by Deputy Minister of Social Policy Vitaly Muzychenko.
From March 1, we forecast and plan to carry out the appropriate indexation of pensions, taking into account the growth of inflationary processes and the average level of wages. Corresponding expenses are included in the draft budget for 2023″Muzychenko said.
In other words, officials will take into account the increase in the dollar against the hryvnia and increase the size of pensions. Of course, how quickly they will carry it out is not entirely clear.
But don’t expect a significant increase. The cost of living will increase by about 5.4%, despite the fact that tacit inflation is already at 30%. That is why pension supplements will be minimal, if you take into account the prices of products.
Muzychenko believes that budget resources do not allow managing large numbers. However, various support programs and financial assistance will be provided for vulnerable and low-income segments of the population.
The Cabinet of Ministers included in the draft state budget for 2023 the minimum wage at the level of December 2022 - UAH 6,700. This is also one of the important indicators for calculating pensions in the future.
