Elon Musk has been quietly working on a new project for the past few weeks. The famous billionaire will talk to AI scientists about setting up a new AI lab. Purpose of the institution? Create a worthy rival for ChatGPT.

The owner of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter is said to have spoken to a number of AI researchers. One of the pop-up names is Igor Babushkin, an expert who recently graduated from DeepMind AI, Google’s artificial intelligence laboratory, The Information journalists found out.
The anonymous sources add that Musk and Babushkin have discussed setting up a new lab, but the project is at an early stage, with no concrete plans or timelines for release. The reports also indicate that the scientist has not yet agreed to work for Elon Musk.

“The danger of AI teaching political correctness—in other words, lies—is deadly,” Musk wrote.
