Some Amazon users can get cash for sharing their smartphone data with the company. However, the voluntary program raises some questions.

The Amazon Ad Verification program promises $2 per month in exchange for access to internet usage data on users’ smartphones. The proposal raised concerns about protecting the privacy of Internet users.

Amazon Ad Verification - Amazon pays to access our data

Amazon Ad Verification is part of the larger Amazon Shopper Panel initiative. This feature is offered only to a select group of users who can voluntarily join the program and receive additional bonuses.

The latter feature, for a rather modest $2 per month payout, allows the e-commerce giant to get an idea of where users are seeing banner ads. Amazon also has access to data about which ads were shown to members, where they saw them, at what time, how many times, and so on.

The initiative includes not only ads from Amazon itself, but also third-party ads. According to the Jeff Bezos company, the purpose of these actions is to better match ads with user preferences.

As we already mentioned, not everyone is familiar with the Amazon Ad Verification program, although the company has prepared a waiting list that you can sign up for. Of course, if the sale of our data for less than 10 PLN does not make us shudder.

Amazon Shopper Panel - Money for Data

The $2 per month payout is much less than other Amazon Shopper Panel initiatives. For example, users can earn up to $10 per month by entering 10 receipts for purchases made outside of the Amazon platform.

Another way to capitalize on our data is to fill out surveys that companies have to give, including the best data on the buying process. The ASP program is currently limited to the US and UK.
