In connection with the preservation of Ekstraklasa in PKO BP, Lukas Podolski, in agreement with the club, decided on a unique gesture. The star, out of his own pocket, decided to finance tickets for the fans for the last home match of Gornik Zabrze.
The current season of PKO BP Ekstraklasa will end on May 27th. Some time ago, Gornik Zabrze ensured that he was kept at the highest level of club play in Poland and will play his last match away against Miedz Legnica, who are already confident of relegation. A week earlier, they will say goodbye to their viewers during a meeting with Pogon Szczecin. At this meeting, a group of fans will appear, to whom Lukas Podolski has presented tickets.

On the official Facebook page of Górnik Zabrze, information appeared that during the match against the third team of the current season PKO BP Ekstraklasa, 1,000 fans from Gliwice, whose tickets were bought by Lukas Podolski, will sit in the stands. Together with Lukas Podolski we have a present for you! Lukas is funding 1,000 tickets for the match against Pogon-Szczecin, the club said in a notice.
It is not yet known what influenced the decision of the German, but the club will provide all the details on Monday, May 15. Everything points to the fact that the 2014 world champion was born in Gliwice.
