The famous ex-football player and coach of Partizan Miodrag Esic, who once played for the Yugoslav national team, died on December 8 in an accident in his native Serbia, reports kurir.rs.
According to the publication, the accident occurred around 10:30. Esich was driving a Citroen and at some point lost control, drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a truck. A lot of metal remained from the passenger car, the 64-year-old coach died on the spot.
According to the Serbian media, earlier an evil fate befell the Esic family about 10 years ago. The 19-year-old daughter of the coach, Elena, was in a car accident and later died from internal bleeding due to the negligence of a doctor.
Miodrag Jesic, who has 8 matches and 2 goals in the Yugoslav national team shirt, played as a central defender for Partizan, with whom he became a two-time Yugoslav champion, as well as for the Turkish Altai and Trabzonspor. Much more Serb traveled the world during his coaching career. Jesic led 26 (!) Clubs in his native Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in many countries of the Middle East. Miodrag’s last team to win 9 trophies as a coach was Al-Shulla from Saudi Arabia, from which he was fired in September 2022.
