Was there any doubt in the ministry that it was worth allowing Ukrainian teams to play in Polish leagues?
I had no such doubts. With the organizers of the league, there were more of them, whether the Ukrainian team could win the Polish championship or a place that Poland is entitled to in European competition. Here, however, international rules do not allow, but if we can give Ukrainian teams the opportunity to survive in the world of sports, when games cannot be held there, then yes. If, for obvious reasons, they could not be launched there, it would not make sense to keep teams there, even from the point of view of sponsors. Such discipline in Ukraine would simply collapse. And we are doing everything in our power to make it fair, and justice requires that the captor, the culprit, and not his victim, be punished.

From the ministry’s point of view, yes. Of course, the final decision always rests with the governing body of the game, be it a sports association or a company.

Poland will also benefit from this cooperation. I’m talking about the football clubs that will play their matches in our Cup, Shakhtar Donetsk even in the Champions League. We usually didn’t have it. Polish fans will be able to see not only very good Ukrainian teams, but also their rivals. In the case of Shakhtar, these will be the best European teams. And Ukrainian fans will be able to find a moment of respite during the match of their teams.
