The United States has in recent months expanded arms supplies to Ukraine by sea instead of air.

The supply of weapons by sea started a few weeks after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but expanded significantly in the spring, when Washington began to provide Kyiv with howitzers and other heavy weapons that require a constant supply of ammunition.
The publication notes that although the air supply is more efficient, sea transport allows the transport of large volumes of cargo, which gives Kyiv the opportunity to create stocks of weapons.
According to WP, the expansion of arms supplies in this way indicates that the United States is allowing a protracted war that could “last for many more months and even years.”
As reported, US President Joe Biden on August 24 announced the largest military aid package in history for Ukraine, totaling almost $3 billion.
Recall that the Pentagon is preparing to transfer additional military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of about $775 million. The new package will in particular include HIMARS ammunition, drones and missile systems.
It should be noted that the United States plans to send Excalibur guided missiles to Ukraine in the future. They are used for artillery 155 millimeters. Excalibur - high-precision projectiles with extended range. Deviation from the target reaches at least two meters. According to the company, one such projectile can replace an average of at least ten conventional ones.
We add that the US Army is ready to conclude a contract for the supply of long-range and powerful Switchblade 600 kamikaze drones for Ukraine. Drone Switchblade 600 can attack targets at a distance of 40 kilometers and stay in the air for about 40 minutes. It is not yet known when the batch of drones will arrive in Ukraine.
It was also reported that in early August, the United States agreed on a new package of military assistance to Ukraine, including ammunition for the HIMARS MLRS systems.
