Funko fully reveals his villainous side with the new Pop! Classic action figure featuring iconic Disney villain Maleficent. Disney’s epitome of all things diabolical was one of the first House of Mouse characters to receive a Pop! own figure next to Mickey himself. It was only natural, then, that she threw a collectible company 25th anniversary party full of throwbacks to the earliest days of their vinyl figures.

Maleficent is brought back to life in Pop! several times over the years, but this figure fully reflects her first appearance with outstretched arms and a magical staff in her hand. Like all anniversary figurines, she is placed on a special Year One base, although she is adorned with flames to signify the destruction she is capable of, no matter what form she takes. The set also includes a collectible enamel pin and a stainless steel coin with the image of Maleficent’s face, as well as a certificate full of information about the evil Disney villain. The figurine also comes in a vault-style tin case to keep its evil locked away.

How did Maleficent come to power in the Disney universe?

One of Disney’s many memorable villains, Maleficent was first introduced in the company’s classic animated film. sleeping Beauty where she nearly killed the young Princess Aurora with a curse that sent her into a deep sleep until sundown on her sixteenth birthday. Funko expects more surprises for its 25th anniversary

So far, Funko’s 25th Anniversary, or “Funniversary”, has brought a host of new and classic figurines for the occasion, including the release of the original Batman, Joker, and Spider-Man figurines in new collectible sets. Last month, the pop culture behemoth also unveiled its roster at San Diego Comic-Con with the return of Funkoville, which paid homage to the bygone days of Blockbuster while also celebrating titles such as M3GAN, screamAnd Jurassic Park.
