While the series was originally a family sitcom, season 6 saw a change. Young Sheldon more than ever before in dramedy. There are plenty more hilarious comedic bits, but many episodes weren’t afraid to let bigger issues and family drama take center stage, which paid off pretty well. In the sixth season, Mary and George’s relationship falters as they both go through major setbacks in their personal lives. Fired by the church, Mary now works at the local bowling alley with neighbor Brenda Sparks. After losing his job at the end of the fifth season, George is hired back to coach the school’s football team, and his secret friendship with Brenda is exposed. This further heightens the tension between him and Mary, who already feels like an outcast in her community. Missy, too, loses some respect for her father because of this secret, and also faces her own personal dilemmas. She feels neglected by her family as all the attention is on both Sheldon and Georgie, which causes Missy to make several rebellious decisions. She shockingly runs away from home and refuses to talk to Sheldon after he punishes her for smoking.

Speaking of Sheldon, he tries to develop a database network at his college, but fails. Luckily, a new opportunity for a summer internship in Germany comes up, which lifts his spirits as he hopes to start making big strides in his field. Georgie and Mandy also strengthen their bond as they prepare to become parents. Georgie embraces change, becoming a more mature and responsible adult. What will Young Sheldon season 7 be about?

Based on where we left everyone at the end of Season 6, there are quite a few storylines to follow along with a few new ones that have been created. First, we need to know about Sheldon’s big trip to Germany for the summer internship program. This could easily change Sheldon’s life, but what Mary can do during her time abroad is equally intriguing. Without George by her side or the kids (other than Sheldon) to worry about, this trip could help Mary break out of her depression while offering a new city and culture to explore. However, at home in Medford, the situation will certainly be much more tense. George has to babysit Missy solo, and even though they’ve made up, there’s probably still some tension between them. Their relationship is not easy enough without the chaos that the tornado brought. Since Connie’s house is destroyed, there is a possibility that she will move in with them. Mandy and CC too, as they also lived there, causing Georgie to often walk between both houses. All under one roof, the Cooper house can quickly become more chaotic than usual, which will only intensify when Sheldon and Mary return.

In terms of continuity, there are also some key events first mentioned by adult Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory about his childhood, which may finally happen in this upcoming season. He discusses how, when he was 14 years old, three important events happened that year. The first thing we already know is that his brother Georgie is getting married for the first time. Second, Sheldon decides to move from Medford, Texas to Pasadena, California. Finally, and most tragically, his father passed away in the same year. If season 7 really is the show’s last installment, we’re in for a very intense and emotional finale. Young Sheldonalong with the most heartbreaking moments The Big Bang Theory.
