Looks like this holiday season will bring an extra dose of action as Echo will officially premiere on Disney+ 29th of November. But there’s a catch in the upcoming launch, as Hawkeye spin-off will release all of its episodes at once, becoming the first television series in Marvel Cinematic Universe to the premiere drunk on the model. Other shows set in the franchise have followed a weekly model for their stories, allowing viewers to digest each part of their storyline week after week, resulting in projects staying in pop culture conversations for months.
But with the new strategy from the studio, it remains to be seen if people will still be talking about Echo by the time of the new year. Starring Alaqua Coxthe spin-off will follow the main character after she was last seen during the events Hawkeye. It was teased throughout this project that Maya Lopez has a special connection to the New York underworld, only to find out that she is in fact Wilson Fisk’s “niece” (Vincent D’Onofrio). A crime lord relative can certainly complicate your life, and Maya learned that the hard way.
Upon learning that Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) were not her enemies, Echo decided to investigate what was really going on with his uncle and his criminal affairs. The journey will lead to a confrontation between the two characters and Maya will end up shooting Fisk when she was last seen in Hawkeye. With the return of D’Onofrio in the upcoming spin-off and the addition of Charlie Cox The cast feels like the battle is far from over, pitting Maya against one of the most powerful and powerful criminals in the entire Marvel Universe.
The future of the MCU underworld
It remains to be seen what will happen when Maya meets her uncle along with Daredevil, but it looks like Kevin Feige already prepared a plan for the next chapter of the story. Premiere in a few months Echo, Daredevil: Reborn will follow Matt Murdock and the aftermath of what happens to him in the Maya series. Even if Thor and Captain Marvel are busy with catastrophes that threaten the safety of space, on the streets of New York, in a corner of the MCU that promises action, emotion and drama, there is still a lot of work to be done.
