Supernatural detective thriller based on Jonathan Stroudnovels of the same name for young adults were developed Joe CornishComplete Fiction ahead of streamer debut in January.
Starred in the series Ruby Stokes as Lucy Carlyle, a teenage ghost hunter with a dark past who teams up with Anthony Lockwood (Cameron Chapman) and George Karim (Ali Hadji-Heshmati) to create a ghost hunting agency that specializes in the destruction of deadly spirits. According to Variety, Netflix was pleased with the show and the quality it put into production. Critics were also satisfied, as the series received a perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes when it debuted. However, the number of streams simply did not reach the threshold for the second season.
Complete Fiction founded by Cornish along with Edgar Wright, Nira Park And Rachel Pryor will continue to work with Netflix. Both companies already have a number of projects in development.
The series joins a growing list of shows that Netflix will cancel after just one season. The streamer canceled last month Freeridge after it also failed to achieve strong streaming figures.
