The galaxy isn’t about to defend itself, and Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) is willing to do whatever it takes to save him. Thanks to Total Film magazine, audiences have just taken a fresh look at the character from the upcoming sequel. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In the image, everyone’s favorite talking raccoon can be seen flying a ship in the Guardians’ official uniform. The outfit resembles the one in the 2008 comics created by Dan Abnett And Andy Lanningwhere this version of the intergalactic team first appeared. The jacket even has the classic logo associated with the characters.
Leading the upcoming adventure James Gunnafter the director was behind the camera in the previous two guardians of the galaxy movie. When the first part was released in 2014, the team was relatively unknown to fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who were followers of more popular characters such as the Avengers. The story centers around Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), and how the mission he was sent on to retrieve the Orb led him to meet all the members of the group, including Gamora (Zoe Saldanha) and Drax (Dave Batista).
This time, however, the film will revolve around Rocket himself through an in-depth exploration of the character’s past. Even though it was hinted in previous films that the raccoon suffered abuse early in his life, this was never discussed in detail. Looks like viewers are about to learn the truth about the villain of the upcoming adventure, the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji) will be closely related to the origins of Rocket Raccoon. Fate will come to the Guardians of the Galaxy in a movie that will mark their farewell to the franchise.
Prelude to Farewell to the Guardians
It’s been six years since the Guardians of the Galaxy had a standalone movie considering how busy they’ve been helping other heroes during the events Avengers: Infinity War And Avengers: Endgame. While these epic blockbusters served as a way to advance their story, it took some time for the band to forge their own path again. That’s why Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Edition was released last year, setting up the characters in their new home and representing the starting point for their upcoming arcs. While details about the sequel’s plot may be scarce, there’s one thing that’s been confirmed: this ending will be emotional.
