Lock your doors and keep something sharp near you, a very wild Winnie the Pooh is leaving the Hundred Acre Wood and getting ready to take his place on your collector’s shelf. Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey has unveiled a special Blu-ray release on April 5th that will come with a host of extras on both physical media and discs. While it received somewhat less raunchy reviews from critics, the slasher-turned-children’s classic has become a devoted cult following for fans who are sure to want to feast their eyes on all the bonus material from the title’s special arrival.
Were you hoping to see footage of the stupid old bloodthirsty bear? Look no further than the Blu-ray release, as a bunch of goofs and behind-the-scenes shows what it was like working on a gore-filled film. Deleted scenes will share most of the story, and audio commentary with the film’s director Rhys Frake-Waterfield can better explain why Tigger didn’t show up in the reimagining. The discs also include a short film titled Winnie the Pooh - Violins and Honey which certainly piqued our musical interest to learn more about the film score.
For fans who love good art, the collector’s edition also contains some very colorful illustrations to add to the horror wall. The custom case will fit perfectly in both your Blu-ray collection and bookshelf as its sleek and thoughtful design was created to look like just another Winnie the Pooh book, but with a much darker twist. Inside you’ll find eight different art cards featuring a wide variety of characters from the film, as well as a 16-page illustrated and custom-written book titled Winnie the Pooh: Honey is thicker than blood.
What blood and honey ABOUT?
IN Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, Freik-Waterfield dared to question what happened to the beloved bear and other anthropomorphic animals living in the Hundred Acre Forest after Christopher Robin passed away. Spoiler: nothing good happened. When Christopher returns to his favorite childhood escape to introduce his new friends to his old ones, things get murderous as Winnie the Pooh and Piglet have now been transformed into feral monsters with a taste of blood-soaked revenge. Originally meant to be released around Halloween 2022, the horror movie finally graced the screens on February 15th with a mid-March re-release.
