Samara weaving returns to the realm of horror as an exclusive via Deadline reveals a new image from Azrael, an upcoming film that puts an actor at the center of a bloody cinematic spectacle. The photo itself shows her character in the middle of a burning forest as she stands with scratches soaked in crimson red blood on her face. Whatever terrible threat she faces remains a mystery, but she seems to show no mercy.
While the image does not provide any context or additional details from the upcoming film, Deadline reports that Azrael focuses on a sorority set in a world where no one can speak, which follows a young woman who has escaped from confinement. After her recapture, Azrael, the main character played by Weaving, must be sacrificed to appease an ancient evil in the desert, from which she must try to survive. With a potentially exciting premise, Azrael can present viewers with a terrifying and gripping story when it eventually debuts.
E.L. Katzwho previously directed the eighth episode The Haunting of Bly Manorlead the upcoming project. Simon Barrettwho is best known as the author of popular horror films such as You are next And Guestwrites the original script for the film Dan Kagan, Dave KaplanAnd Simon Barrett attached as manufacturers. Jason Cloth And Catherine Kissa will serve as executive producers on the film, which combines CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group domestically, with Mossbank launching international sales.

Weaving had previously established herself in the horror genre by releasing a popular film. Ready or Notin which she starred. Along with the final release AzraelShe is also going to act in Creek VI, which is a continuation of the franchise’s successful relaunch last year. Now, with another horror film starring her on the way, fans have a lot to look forward to as Weaving continues to solidify herself as an icon of the genre.
