Netflix unveiled the first trailer Agent Elvis, the upcoming animated series that finally answers the age-old question: what if the king of rock and roll became a super agent? The trailer also gives us a first glimpse of Matthew McConaughey like the voice of an animated Elvis Presley.
Formerly called Agent King, the upcoming adult animated series takes a wacky concept and squeezes every ounce of insanity out of it. As seen in the trailer, the upcoming series will follow Elvis Presley’s double life after being recruited by a spy agency to protect the world from lunatics and terrorists. And while we still don’t know why Elvis becomes a spy, the trailer highlights that he’s definitely the right fit for the job. For example, joke about 007 franchise and its incredible gadgets, the trailer shows Elvis trying to use the pen’s special properties only to find out it’s an everyday item. He still kills the enemy with this pen, so watch out John Wick!
The trailer also highlights how the series takes place between the 1960s and 1970s. Poking fun at numerous historical events, the trailer shows Elvis as the first man on the moon no later than 1969. Elvis also shakes hands in the trailer President Richard Nixon before the Watergate scandal led to his withdrawal in 1974.
Who is involved Agent Elvis?
Agent Elvis created by Elvis’ ex-wife Priscilla Presley together with John Eddy. Mike Arnold serves as showrunner and Eddie also serves as co-showrunner. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Animation, the studio behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Executive producers include McConaughey, Kevin Noel, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, Ben Kalina, Jamie Salter, Corey Salter, and Mark RosenWith Fletcher Mules co-executive production.
