Saban Films today shared an exclusive trailer for their upcoming action thriller with Collider. Ambush. Under the direction of Aaron Eckhart and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the story is based on real events and follows a group of soldiers tasked with invading enemy territory during the Vietnam War. Their mission is to obtain documents that can change the entire outcome of the conflict. Saban Films has also revealed when and where the film will be available, and now we can tell you that it will premiere on February 24 simultaneously in theaters, digitally and on demand.
trailer for Ambush starts with what you would expect from a military action movie: gunfire, casualties, bombs and explosions. But he quickly moves away from that to show what makes this movie different. It’s all about the folder, which will probably become the most important object in history. The mission is quite simple: the document must be obtained and destroyed “at any cost”, and the implementation of this plan will become hell on Earth - with a twist.
The only way is underground
Amid all this chaos, the soldiers realize that the best way to infiltrate enemy territory is to go underground, but that also brings its own problems. How safe are you when you put your team in small underpasses? And, worst of all, what if the enemy is aware of a “flaw” in their security and has set a trap? An action movie can quickly turn into a thriller as the soldiers venture into the unknown.
Ambush leads Mark Bermanwho has an extensive career as a producer with titles such as dog eat dog and Your name. Berman directs his third project and co-authored Ambush scenario with Michael McClung (In the case of Joan of Arc) and Johnny Lozano, who makes his debut as a feature film screenwriter. In addition to Rhys Meyers and Eckhart, the cast also Connor Paolo (Revenge), Mac Brandt (The Case of Pam), Jordan Johnson-Hindes (Download), and Jeff Caperton (deep sea horizon).
2023 is an exciting year for Jonathan Rhys Meyers fans
The war film marks an exciting year for Rhys Meyers, who is set to appear in several other projects across multiple genres.
