‘Barbie’ (2023)
Released in July 2023, this film reimagines the brand and the leading lady that comes with it. Judging by trailers and movie posters, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling dazzlingly bright in identical outfits and megawatt smiles.
The romantic comedy will go much deeper than clothes and accessories. Barbie leaves Barbie Country, rejected because of her flaws. When she joins the human world, viewers are sure to be entertained while learning some lessons along the way.
‘Annabelle’ (2014)

Going from the brightest Barbie to the darkest of dolls, Annabelle This is a film about how wrong it is to give gifts. The doctor gives his pregnant wife a beautiful vintage baby doll. Sounds amazingly cute, right?
From there, neighbors are killed, the future couple is attacked and paranormal phenomena occur. After a troubling start to fatherhood, the couple discover that demons are using a porcelain puppet to take souls. Ouch!
‘Life Size’ (2000)
I don’t know how the rest of the world felt, but in 2000, teenagers were crazy about Tyra Banks and Lindsey Lohan in Real size. As Casey searches for a way to contact her dead mother, she finds a spellbook that can help bring her mother back to life.
When a sports-obsessed girl accidentally gets a shopaholic fashion doll named Eve instead, they don’t hit it off. If viewers weren’t impressed by the sweet bond between the ladies, they’re sure to be hooked by Eva’s performance of “Become a Star” at the end of the movie.
“M3GAN” (2023)
A roboticist using artificial intelligence to bring a doll to life for children… what could go wrong? Apparently, a lot. What should have been a childhood dream friend becomes a real nightmare.
Doll inventor Gemma wants to help her recently orphaned niece cope with the grief of losing her loving parents. M3GAN takes being Cady’s protector very seriously and will do anything to keep her safe. When the film premieres, let’s hope everyone survives in the process.
‘Toy Story’ (1995)
Like M3GAN, Andy’s toys will do anything for their owner. In a much more carefree toy story toys show what happens in the absence of people. When Woody and his pals are greeted with a new birthday present, it’s obvious that the toys feel a little threatened.
Buzz Lightyear has more gadgets than a Swiss army knife. In the end, everyone works together to take the big step. Bo Peep (and her sheep), Mr. Potato Head, Ham, Rex and Slinky join the cowboy dolls and space heroes on their adventure. Proving that children’s toys are always in trend, three more stories about Woody and the gang have been created.
“Child’s Play” (1988)
After escaping from a Chicago cop, Charles Lee Ray transfers his soul into a talking doll and fear into the minds of viewers around the world. When a little boy wants an expensive Nice Guy doll for his birthday, Andy’s mother is happy when she finds one she can afford.
Soon it turns out that the price reduction is not worth it. Andy is constantly accused of killing the doll, and those around him wonder why he blames it on an inanimate object. As Chucky again tries to ruin Andy’s life by possessing the boy’s body, those who believe him can put an end to it. Children’s games was remade in 2019 with Aubrey Plaza as a scared and devoted mother.
“Ugly Dolls” (2019)
Hidden deep in the toy factory, the ugly dolls named Embers are hidden from the rest of the world. The mayor quickly tells the main characters in UglyDolls that there is no other way of life. Moxie is convinced that there is more outside of Agleyville.
Having found the Institute of Excellence, the Freaks must prove their worth by preparing for the Gauntlet. This is their only hope to one day love a child in the big world. With the help of one of the imperfectly perfect beauties, Moxxi and her friends realize their worth. Using vibrant colors and catchy melodies, the film reminds viewers to embrace the unique qualities in themselves and others.
‘Boy’ (2016)
If anyone wants goosebumps and not being able to sleep soundly for quite some time, see Guy might do the trick. Greta expects more than she bargains for when she takes a job as a nanny abroad. When she meets her parents, they inform her that she will take care of their son named Brahms.
Greta thinks the performance will be a trifle, since the couple’s son is, you know, a life-size doll. As with any good horror movie, strange things start to happen. Greta and a new friend work together to figure it all out, but in the end, they just want to stay alive.
‘Coraline’ (2009)
What immediately pops up when you google this movie? People everywhere are wondering coraline it is for kids or adults. This eccentric and imaginative stop motion film is truly suitable for all ages. It follows a single girl as her family moves to Ashland, Oregon.
While her workaholic parents are at work, Coraline explores her new home at the Pink Palace Apartments. A new friend gives Coraline his grandmother’s rag doll with button eyes. After the doll hints at a door leading to a parallel universe, Coraline is intrigued. Her experience helps her appreciate the life she has in this world.
‘Saw’ (2004)
A prime example of how popular doll horror movies can be is that there are nine movies on the list. Had seen franchise. John “Saw” Kramer doesn’t just want to kill his victims. He wants to torture them to life or death.
The saw, the most fearsome of puppets, is used to communicate with those who are in captivity. Whether the figure appears in person or on screen, his instructions are intimidating. The messages may be from the trainer, but the doll has an electronic cackle. The eerie sound is enough to frighten the doll almost as much as the person who controls it.
