Free release of the first episode of the new series on YouTube was the latest hot marketing ploy for streaming services. This brings the show to an audience that might otherwise miss the show and maybe even hook them enough to sign up for the service. HBO Max released the first episode Dragon House on YouTube for free, and the video has over 400,000 views! Paramount+ did the same with the first episode. Halo. First episode 1923 has been on YouTube for only three days and already has almost 300,000 views. Even if only half of those viewers are interested enough to buy Paramount+, it’s still a great move!
Along with Ford and Mirren, 1923 stars Sebastian Roche, Darren Mann, Robert Patrick, Jerome Flynnand Timothy Dalton. This is the last series of yellowstone franchise creator and Academy Award nominee, Taylor Sheridan. The series follows the new generation of the Dutton family as they establish the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch in Montana, the focus of the original series. As the official plot description of the series says:
1923, the origin story of Yellowstone, starring Harrison Ford (Jacob Dutton) and Helen Mirren (Cara Dutton), and introduces the new generation of the Dutton family as they explore the early 20th century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and The Great Depression is all a disaster for the mountain west - and the Duttons who call it home.
The series is just one of the spin-offs yellowstone. There is also 1883, which premiered last year and followed the Dutton family post-Civil War. The series then got its own spin-off with the upcoming 1883: The Bass Reeves Story. Also on the horizon 6666, a contemporary Texas ranch spin-off that is expected to premiere sometime next year. All of these series are owned by Sheridan, who is the sole writer for nearly every episode in the series. yellowstone franchise and directed several episodes of each series. He is also known for his critically acclaimed films such as Sicario, Hell or high waterand wind river.
1923 currently premieres on Paramount+ with new episodes on Sundays.
