End of widely loved Netflix series Umbrella Academy is getting closer every day as it was announced back in August of this year that the series would end with an upcoming fourth season. Following this announcement, few details about the final season were released, but what was often reported came directly from the show’s showrunner and executive producer. Steve Blackman and left fans in awe, most recently giving fans a look at the cover of the first script for the new season. Now, Blackman is once again sharing new information about Season 4, confirming that the series finale will be 6 episodes long.
Revealing the number of episodes for Umbrella Academy season 4 was done on Blackman’s twitter, who responded to a fan who refused to believe that the final season would only be six episodes long. Blackman confirmed the six-episode season, saying, “It’s true. But you’ll like them.” This makes the final season four episodes shorter than all of its previous runs, as each season 1-3 had 10 episodes. In response to the news, fans of the show began calling for longer episodes, with some requesting two-hour episodes. While this will no doubt be a long episode for a Netflix series, it’s not as unprecedented as the last two episodes of the series. very strange things Season 4, which was released earlier this year, was about 90 minutes long. While fans have made it clear they want long episodes, the length of the six episodes is unknown at the time of writing, so we’ll have to wait and see if that shorter episode count actually means less content.

Same day as the fourth and final season renewal Umbrella Academy, it was announced that Blackman and his production banner Irish Cowboy had signed a multi-year contract with Netflix. One of the projects it will produce under this new deal includes an adaptation of a popular video game for the PlayStation. Zero dawn horizon.
