Apple TV+ returns to Rock for another round. Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock has been renewed for a second season on the streamer, and it should go big according to Deadline. The acclaimed children’s series will be joined by several major talents upon its return, including an Academy Award winner. Ariana Debose (West Side Story) and Emmy winners Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso) as well as Katherine O’Hara (Shitts Creek). Emmy nominee David Diggs (Hamilton) will also return after making his debut on The Rock last season and appearing in the Night of Lights holiday special. Production on the second season of the reboot series has already begun in Calgary, Canada.
Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock returns to the world Jim Hensonthe beloved musical comedy puppet series, in which the Fraggles Gobo, Moki, Wembley, Buber and Red enjoy adventures with the Dusers and Gorgs. Season 2 will apparently bring these three groups closer together as the big changes will affect The Rock and everyone there. They will have to face their past and ultimately move forward towards a better future for Fraggle Rock, created through their interdependence. Of course, the synopsis promises more goofs, songs and dances as their adventure progresses.
The Jim Henson Company created the series with Lisa Henson, Holly Stanford, John Tartaglia, Alex Cuthbertsonas well as Matt Fasfeld acting as executive producers. In the first season, the voices of Tartaglia sounded, Karen Prell, Dave Goltz, Donna Kimballas well asJordan Lockhart along with talented guest stars such as Patti Labelle, Kenan Thompson, Ed Helms, Cynthia ErivoDiggs and even Fu Fighters. However, there are some powerful voices in the second season. DeBoz demonstrated her pipes on screen in Steven SpielbergX West Side Story and in the musical comedy series Shmigadun! while Goldstein previously posted a video of him performing Muppet Christmas Carol in six minutes. O’Hara doesn’t slouch either, and is known for her excellent singing in The nightmare before christmas.
Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock is one of Apple’s successful children’s series.
So far, the return to Rock has been good for Apple. Bringing back the magic of the original series, Back to the rock also grabbed some hardware, earning recognition from the Sentinel Awards for Outstanding Children’s Programming and forfeiting the first ever Children’s & Family Emmy Awards with four nominations. own collider Maggie Boccella gave the first season an A in her rave review of the series, saying, “Back to the rock it is a loving and dignified reminder that there is joy to be found in everyday life, even when things seem difficult.”
