The Vinyl is an addition to the game’s original soundtrack. Gustavo Santaolalla as well as Mac Quayle. The EP contains five covers Part II and its marketing. Tracks include “Future Days” performed by Troy Baker”True Faith” (based on Lotte Kestner’s Cover) performed by Ashley Johnson as well as Chris Rondinella, “Through The Valley” by Johnson and Rondinella, “Take On Me” by Johnson and Rondinella, and “Wayfaring Stranger” by Johnson and Baker. The vinyl features Ellie’s guitar from Dani Pendergast and accompanying notes from the game director Neil Druckmann.
The Last of Us Part 2, like its brilliant original, is one of the best games ever made. It’s a violent horror with vivid themes linked to cycles of violence and monsters we’ve created, making it one of the most emotionally dark stories ever told. Druckmann and his team, Naughty Dog, have created a 25-hour terrifying game that turns the pages from addictive gameplay to stunning visuals and rich characters and text. Played flawlessly by Baker and Johnson, Joel and Ellie are two of the best duos in the entire gaming industry.
The Last of Us Part 2The soundtrack and the marketing campaign are undeniably commendable. Whether it’s the song “Through the Valley”, which Ellie sang darkly in the game’s announcement trailer, or the epic CGI trailer “True Faiths”, music plays an integral part of this universe. The music connects Ellie with Joel and in Part II this strengthens the love bond between Ellie and Dina. In one of the best segments of the game, Ellie plays “Take On Me” for Dina at the music store they found on their way to Seattle. This is one of the most emotional parts of the game, full of teary moments. However, once you get to the end credits and Stranger Wandering starts playing, you will most likely need a therapist.
