From September, students will study business. What will we find in the instructions?

Must read

Half a million students will start studying a new business and management subject in September. Minister Przemysław Czarnek assures that it will be “a novelty on an unprecedented scale”, while Money.pl is revising a textbook on a subject that should teach young people about entrepreneurship.

“In the concept of the subject, the emphasis is on group work, the development of students’ competencies in the field of personal finance and case analysis. Thanks to them, students will develop 4K competencies - cooperation, communication, creativity and critical thinking.

Business and management. What does the guide contain?

The publishers had little time to prepare the manual. Two books went on sale: The New Era and WSiP. The editor of Money.pl received a textbook from the second of the listed publishers. Its author is Eva Kavchinska-Kelbasa. From the curriculum vitae, we learn that she is a graduate and postgraduate student of the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz, and previously wrote textbooks for vocational training.

The guide consists of three chapters. The first one, titled “The Entrepreneurial Person in the Modern World”, describes attitudes and competencies related to entrepreneurship. The second - “Project Management” - discusses the specifics of the project, the SMART methodology, and the extended part - design thinking, stages and critical analysis of project work. The last chapter is “The Market Economy”. In it, students will read about market types, supply and demand, consumer rights, the state budget and territorial units, and economic patriotism.

The Money.pl journalist noted that the guide did not implement all the recommendations of the core curriculum. Students “will not be taught how to write a resume or prepare for an interview”, although such content should be included in the manual.
