On Wednesday, the Seimas decided to submit a draft act on the support of digital competencies of students and teachers for further work. The purpose of the act is to provide 4th grade primary school students with laptops and state primary school teachers with laptop vouchers. Equipment will be centrally procured annually by the office of the minister responsible for computerization.

The Government Service Center today released a verified list of companies that can enter into a framework contract for the supply of laptops for fourth graders. - We have 14 companies that meet the tender criteria - they have offered several models from different manufacturers. You can see that there is an element of competitiveness here, which makes us very happy. Let me remind you that the final prices of laptops and contractors in each of the 73 designated regions will be known in July - emphasizes Minister of Digitization Janusz Cieszynski, quoted in the ministry’s communique.

The ministry reports that more than $1 billion 182 million will be allocated for the purchase of 394 thousand for 346 laptops. – Modern equipment should be a permanent element of the Polish education system. The lightest laptop offered by the companies that participated in the tender weighs only 1.4 kg. For us adults, this is not the most important criterion, but when we talk about children, we must take them into account - emphasizes the head of the Ministry of Digital Development.

Notebooks that will pass to children will be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty for 36 months.
