There is a clear deterioration in the deposit offer. 8.4 percent is the maximum we can get at the moment. Savings again bring less and less profit. Where, after all, you can count on the best deals?
Since the end of the action at Credit Agricole, which gave the right to new customers to open deposits at 10 percent, deposit offers have become very scarce. At the moment, no bank is ready to pay 9%. The best offer is 8.4 percent. to Toyota Bank Polska. You do not have to be a client of this bank, but you must deposit at least PLN 40,000. For smaller amounts, the same bank has an offer of up to 8.2 percent, and an account is already required.
deposits. Where are deposits at 8 percent?
Slightly above 8%. Citi Handlowy’s offer (Equity Savings Account - 8.1 percent) also ranks. The promotion is for new customers only and is not available to individuals with a checking or savings account with Citi Handlowy after December 31, 2020. The promotion ends on the last day of March.
InBank offers a deposit for 3 months at 8 percent. InBank has been present in Poland since 2017. This is a bank established on the basis of the permission of the Estonian supervisory authorities and belongs to a popular network in Estonia. Clients’ money is protected up to 100,000 euros, but the institution that provides security in case of insolvency is not the Bank Guarantee Fund, but the Estonian equivalent of Tagatisfond.
InBank does not require an account, anyone can open a deposit.
VeloBank Santander Bank, Pekao… Where are the deposits at 8 percent?
In VeloBank you can also make a deposit for 3 months with an interest rate of 8%. This interest rate will only apply to new funds. The promotion will run until April 6th. You can also install a “Mobile Starting Deposit” - for 2 months, also 8 percent. Deposits are not just for customers, no account is required to use them.
Savings accounts and deposits with an interest rate of 8%. also available from mBank, Nest Bank, Bank Pekao, Bank Nowy SA and Bank PKO. Santander Bank offers an 8 percent Konto Max Oszczędnościowe account with promo interest until June 29, 2023.
Good deals are over
Including the category “deposits at 8 percent. and much more” ends. In the coming months, depositors will not be able to count on better offers. It looks like the Monetary Policy Board has already completed its cycle of rate hikes and we should see a decline in inflation in the coming weeks. Lending is still lagging behind, there are no people willing to take long-term loans for an apartment. The combination of these factors means that there is no reason for banks to offer attractive interest rates. Even during periods of high inflation, interest rates on deposits barely approached half their value, but in retrospect it already seems that “it used to be good”.
