From September 4, 2022, it will not be necessary to issue a vehicle card and a legalization sticker, since communication departments and the police have access to the central register of vehicles. Also, the car owner, thanks to the mPojazd application, will be able to check the history of the car online.
Although September 4, 2022 was Sunday, formally, from this date, control stickers will no longer be issued to drivers when registering vehicles. However, users of previously registered vehicles will legally be able to remove them from their windows after that day. September will also revolutionize automotive documents. From the fourth day of this month, transport cards will also not be issued. Documents issued so far and their duplicates become invalid. They can be saved, destroyed or returned to the appropriate headman.
Savings for drivers
Thanks to the change in the rules, car owners will save PLN 94.5 when registering a car, for example, imported from abroad (vehicle card - PLN 75, control sticker - PLN 18.5, registration fee - PLN 1), and - registering a car without preservation of existing registration plates - PLN 19 (control sticker - PLN 18.5, registration fee - PLN 0.50). The cost of registering a car in the above cases will be PLN 161.50. Until September 4, 2022, registration of a car imported from abroad cost PLN 256, and the cost of re-registering a car in Poland (without keeping existing numbers) was PLN 180.5.
The elimination of the obligation to issue a vehicle card and a control sticker was made possible by an amendment to the Road Traffic Act.
